“Shepparton was disappointed to learn that our district had not been selected as a major hub to host the Commonwealth Games as we are in a prime location, and we could have used this opportunity to further develop and expand our sports facilities to the world class. standard for the Games.

“We want to make sure that we are in the running to hold some sporting events, such as cycling, BMX racing and BMX freestyle.”

Ms Sheed said there was also an opportunity to develop cultural events and venues, and the city is well placed to host major events.

“In addition to our unique facilities and beautiful scenery, we have an abundance of accommodation options in Shepparton and surrounding towns,” she said.

“Not only would the events be a welcome financial boost to our region after two tough economic years, but it would also boost our community and provide a new event for people to enjoy together and feel like we are part of the world.” Commonwealth Games.”
