We’re still waiting for the NHL training camps to start, but the St. Louis Blues Twitter account is already halfway through the season.
Grammy-nominated recording artist Post Malone shook a St. Louis Blues jersey on the Enterprise Center stage on Saturday when it slipped into a hole used in a previous set to lower an acoustic guitar. He squirmed onstage with injured ribs and was taken to hospital for treatment.
The official @StLouisBlues account gave a quick update: “Post Malone suffered an upper body injury on Saturday but was back in action. You have to be tough when you wear the Blue Note and it didn’t disappoint.”
The Blues said they were glad Malone was okay and looked forward to seeing him back in town.
“Ray Barile is going to get him right, we already know that,” Twitter user @twelcher15 said, referring to the Blues head coach.
In a short video posted Sunday, Malone apologized for the accident, saying it “excited me quite a bit and made me pretty good.” He said he was out of the hospital and ready to continue his tour.
“I just want to apologize to everyone in St. Louis,” he said, thanking fans who bought tickets and promising to put on a two-hour show to “make up for the couple’s missed numbers.”
“Thanks for hanging out, even though I did get myself a kick in the ass.”
A similar incident happened to Canadian star Justin Bieber when he walked on stage at the 2016 Show Purpose World Tour in Saskatoon. Bieber was able to avoid injury and continued to perform.
