The Lake Helen League for Better Living is happy to host again “Art With Heart Gallery and Food Drive” in historical Hopkins Hall, which will be transformed into a pop-up gallery to host work from all kinds of local artists. The event will take place on Saturday, February 11 from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Hopkins Hall is located at 150 Connecticut Ave. at Lake Helen.
The gallery’s intent is to create a space where local artists can be celebrated and form connections with each other and the community, while supporting an important local cause by raising funds and food donations for our local Lake Helen food bank , Outside the Gates Food Pantry.
The main hall of Hopkins Hall will feature works by 16 local artists and several young artists. In the library room and conservatory, nine local authors will exhibit their works, as well as a special demonstration of beam brook on puppetry.
Authors will share readings during gallery hours. Join the performer on stage Jason Villalobos for a unique music, lighting and gaming experience.
Most artists will have work for sale, so be sure to bring cash to purchase. To enter the gallery, please bring a donation of non-perishable food and/or a monetary donation to Outside the Gates Food Pantry.
Last year, in addition to a large donation of non-perishable food, more than $800 was donated. This year’s goal is to cross $1,000. Help us reach our goal while you enjoy and support local artists!
