Arsenal star Gabriel replicates Ivan Toney tweet after win over Brentford as Gunners show post still pisses them off, as revealed in Mikel Arteta’s All or Nothing team talk

You might think Arsenal players would have celebrated a brilliant 3-0 win over Brentford, but instead they are concentrating on events from long ago.

The Gunners were great in West London as they easily beat the Bees thanks to goals from William Saliba, Gabriel Jesus and Fabio Vieira.

Manager Mikel Arteta even helped make Premier League history that day, making Ethan Nwaneri the youngest player to appear in the division.

He entered the battle for Vieira at the age of 15 years and 181 days old.

And yet, after the result, it seems that at least one Arsenal player – Gabriel – was still thinking about a match more than a year ago.

In August 2021, a newly promoted Brentford team defeated them 2-0 at the Gtech Community Stadium.

After that collision, Ivan Toney tweeted, “Nice kick with the boys.”

It shook Arteta off the ground at the time and the Spaniard used it as inspiration for their 2-1 win at the Emirates Stadium in February.

Before the game, he showed his players the tweet and, as revealed on Everything or Nothing, he shouted: “Before I go because it’s still in my stomach and I’ve managed to make it four months, five months, six months. .

“This is Toney after the game when we played against Brentford. Do you know what he did? Do you know his tweet? Playing around with the boys.

“So today they’re playing in our house, guys, there’s only one team on that damn field – and that’s us! Only one team, it’s like they don’t play football.

“We’ll get that finger ball, we’ll get the game, we’ll go for it and let’s f****** win this game!”

They did so, while Alexandre Lacazette mimicked Toney’s post-match tweet.

And now, more than a year after the loss, defender Gabriel has tweeted the same.
